In Chile, people celebrate many special days during the year. One important celebration is Fiestas Patrias. It is on September 18th. Families eat traditional food, dance cueca, and watch parades.
Children also love Halloween on October 31st because they wear costumes and collect candy. At Christmas, on December 25th, families decorate the Christmas tree and exchange gifts.
New Year is on January 1st. Many people watch fireworks at midnight. Valentine's Day is on February 14th. Friends and couples give chocolates and cards.
Some people also celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in March and Thanksgiving in November.
